    Ian, Noe – I hope you all get to see it soon, I wouldn’t have known the answer to the £50.000 – it was about whether a £5, £10, £20 or £50 was the most circulated in the UK and they only had seconds to give their answer. They said £10 but it was wrong – it was £20.

    Noe, I’m one of those people who finds much healing in listening to Paul sing. There is a ‘magic’ in his voice that deeply affects me. And I always tell him how his songs affect me. I think that kind of feedback is important. This newest song even though it was just half the song, made me weep, for hours. I put it on replay and just let it work its magic on me. Paul is a genius in his own right. There are many singers but a ‘soul singer’ is rare. BTW, the mp3 is available on Amazon.

    Erika, I don’t think she was equating Paul to Mozart and Beethoven. She was talking about the music that calms her bipolar disorder, and in that context I think it’s perfectly appropriate. I would certainly have both Paul and Beethoven (not so much Mozart) on a list of music that calms and soothes me.

  53. Baesle
    Posted January 18, 2012 at 16:32 | Permalink

    Noe, to mention Paul in one breath with Beethoven and Mozart is not quite appropriate, I think.

    Well, can’t find a place on my Profile page to leave this, so I’ll put it here. This is from my Profile Page on PPWWF MySpace.

    For a humble man, with a heart as large and as generous as your talent, I dedicate this tribute to you Paul Potts; the man who lit the beacon of inspiration and hope for the world … and for me.

    TRIBUTE TO PAUL POTTS

    In a world that often loses sight of what is good,
    Of what is pure and what is right;
    You came as a beacon to light up the world
    With your indomitable spirit that would try,
    With the toss of a coin, just one – more – time.
    The nationwide call for new talent, for a new star;
    Britain’s Got Talent 2007, a new show, a new search.
    In South Wales, the call was answered, by a store manager;
    And in an ordinary audition, the extraordinary happened.
    The eyes of the world looked upon one event, one man.
    The heart of the world beat with nervous anticipation
    And united with one breath, to follow one person;
    On his journey from obscurity onto the world stage.
    A nation’s heart swelled with pride, as one son grew
    To show the world, that a rare jewel can be found;
    From the dustiest corners, from the ordinary places.
    You showed us humility that is born of adversity;
    An amazing talent, that rises up from the ordinary;
    A wavering and near-spent dream, that slowly flickers into life;
    An ordinary and humble man, who conquers the world.
    And on a planet plagued with conflict, rent in disharmony,
    Drowning in hopelessness born of disunity;
    We laid down our differences, our prejudice, our hate
    And forged a united bond to cheer on one man.
    We found a reason to believe in our world,
    To believe in ourselves … to believe in our dreams;
    Because we found our light in you, Paul Potts.
    Not all of us will rise up, not all of us will succeed;
    But we who were moved in heart and spirit,
    By you and your phenomenal rise to glory;
    Will forever know the joy and the victory that comes …
    When one of us succeeds.
